wooo and such

So today was another eeh-xcellent day. I got my hair done, and it looks super cute. The highlights are chunkier and the underside is a little darker, and she stacked the layers in the back more to give it a little more interest. It looks awesome. Then I met up with my mom and we went to Max & Erma's, which for all you southerner's out there is just like Fridays or Applebees only you don't have them so HA! And they have awesome fries. Wooo!

Then it was DASH home, change, and go to my interview, which went spectacularly. He loved my samples, and liked me. He said there definitely might be a place at their company for me. I have to wait a few weeks for his response, but I'm hopeful. He really seemed to like me. Hwuuu!

PS: Any Project Runway fans out there in my flist? Anyone else not think that Chloe's collection would rock your face off? Yeah, I was pleasantly suprised and she totally deserved to win.

Oh and Ashley: Lemonade. That's all I'm saying.

good day!

Good two days, actually, because yesterday was good, too. I actually got up in the morning, got things done, and then yesterday evening my parent's friend Kathy came in. She was in town on business but came by to have dinner, and since I seemed to enjoy playing bridge I got to play with them. When Kathy and her husband were here for a weekend, they played 51 hands in one day. That's a lot. We only played about six or seven, but had a good time, and me and my dad won all but twice. Kathy said I'm not allowed to have beginner's luck anymore because I'm not a beginner. lol.

But the best part about yesterday was when my dad called. I did some work for his company when I first got here, designing a logo for a service in his company. Anyway, they took what I had done to their normal graphic designer to work on further and utilize in other ways. She met with my dad yesterday, and when she learned that I was the one who had done the original and I was looking for a job, she said she was looking for a new entry-level designer and she wanted my resume. !!!

So I took my resume over today. The principle wasn't there, but one of the other designers was, and he was really nice. He seemed impressed by my resume, so I'm really excited. The woman who owns it will be back tomorrow, so here's hoping!!!

Also LOST tonight was probably the best episode I've seen all season. Alex! Others! Ethan! Baby Aaron! And almost no Jack! And next week? Sun pregnant wha?

of bridge and website-making

I had to post, because my mom thinks I'm going to get on here and tell you all that they tortured me into playing bridge with them. Actually I had fun, bridge is like slightly more complicated Hearts/Spades. I got the hang of it quickly, and actually won the last three hands, which thouroughly irritated her.

In other news I've been working on a website for my story. Admittedly, I have started and restarted doing this about six times in the last year or so, but this time it looks rock awesome, thanks to my recently heightened knowledge of GoLive. Yay for rollovers! It would look even better if I had Flash, but that shall come later.

NBC just showed an ad for the new Monday programming after the Olympics. Their tag for the show Medium is "Everyone's favorite psychic soccer mom". Like, how many other psychic soccer moms do we know?

Ahhh Andre Boticelli. I'm telling you, man, my future husband better have a good singing voice. I'm a voice person. And there are like four hundred brides walking across the stage...ooookay. Ahh...they represent "hope" and carry torches made of lilies. Gotcha.

olympics and tests

So, I watched the second of three parts of the Ice Dancing competition. And I must say, watching it two days ago I thought Ice Dancing was pretty stupid. Like, it's dancing, on ice...and this is an olympic sport why? But tonight was the original dance competition and Oh My. Falls and spills and injuries and wow, you can actually do that on skates? (Plus a whole lot of omg that isn't actually held together with nude mesh...) I have a new appreciation for the sport. Plus the American couple really rocked out. (Although I think the Russians are probably better)

Anyway, cool Ennagram Meme )

olympic drama

I love watching the Olympics, winter or summer. I especially enjoy winter though, because I like skating and the downhill sports. And so far, Torino has been all about the stories - people coming back from injuries or having some great story of their road to the Olympics. The pairs skating competition had some great moments, so did men's skating. Speed skating was interesting, and the half-pipe snowboarding competition was definitely worth watching - men and women.

So tonight's big story was the first ever snowboard cross - basically a downhilll race on snowboards which has been around in the world cup and x-game scene but not olympics until this year. Last night the American Seth Wescott had an awesome run for gold, and tonight USA looked to world champion Lindsey Jacob Ellis to get gold. And she almost did, until she fell on the last jump and took silver. Why did she fall? Because instead of just taking the jump, she did a trick, because she was way ahead of anyone else and got caught in the moment, but landed it badly and fell, giving the second place skier time to get around her. Now the press and the world is critizing her because she got overconfident and cocky - but I don't think it was that at all. Hell, if I was at my first ever olympics and I was 150ft. in front of the nearest person and thought I could do the trick, I would! It wasn't even like a spin or anything, it was just a grab. If she had landed it, everyone would have thought it was totally amazing, but because she didn't, it gets turned into the "what were you thinking" moment of the olympics.

Sigh. What would the world be like if there wasn't someone to point fingers at?

rrrrr

So my morning started out sucky. I had an eye appointment, so I could *finally* get new contacts (i've been living on my last pair for...well way too long). Anyway, I thought I knew where this place was but first I had to get to where I thought it was, which took me forever, then it turned out NOT to be there, and so after driving around for half an hour, I pulled into a gas station, got their phone book, but it wasn't in there. By now, I'm freaking out because I'm half an hour late to my appointment, I don't know where I'm going, my brother is asleep, my dad is working, and my mom was at bible study, so she couldn't answer her phone. But just then she calls me and I told her what happened. She told me to call directory assistance, who magically had the number, even though the phonebook didn't. Anyway, I had to reschedule for NEXT Monday. Argh. I hope my contacts can last that long, because my glasses are definitely not strong enough anymore and they give me a headache if I try to wear them for too long because I have to squint to focus.

So all that and I was fairly annoyed with myself, tried to cheer myself up by going to Barnes and Noble. Strangely, it worked, even though I didn't buy anything. Mostly because what I wanted to buy was way too expensive because the book hasn't come out in paperback yet.

But I did get to talk to my Katy on the phone for a bit while she was getting lunch (yay!) and the guy came today to see about getting the scrollwork on our piano fixed (the movers broke it) (and that's a yay because I loves my piano and it's upstairs on the landing to my room because I'm the only one who still plays it every now and then)

Oh and I'm excited because tonight is the episode of CSI that I'm totally stoked to see - yay for Lady Heather! (ps - any Lost addicts out there on my flist? Because i'm totally p.o.ed at Sawyer and Charlie right now! can you believe?)

GO COLTS!

Stephanie the die-hard football fan has returned! Hooray! Time to get ready so I can cheer on my team. Go Blue!

Something about living down south made me not enjoy football anymore, which is sad, because I love football. I think the fact that I watched like, every bowl game with my cousins over new years helped.

And my parents are AT THE GAME OMG. So jealous. So if you're watching the game, and the camera pans up to the LUXURY BOX SEATS, my parents will wave happily at you while they...I dunno what they do up there, sip cocktails and eat little hot dogs on toothpicks I dunno. lol. j/k, they got the tickets from work, but they'll be just as into the game as anyone else! Indy loves their Colts, man.

ETA: Holy crap. That was a crazy game. Colts lost, but Pittsburg played freakin awesome, so I guess I can't really dispute it. It was amazing though. They almost got too far ahead, with a 4th down conversion on the 2nd yard line, but with a freak fumble we got it back with enough yardage to get a field goal and tie it up, but the kicker missed, and that was that. (that was all with one minute left in the game - the last five minutes of play time were CRAZY)

doodly doo

So, I've totally become addicted to this show on the Bravo Channel. It's called Project Runway. It's like, America's Next Top Model for Fashion Designers. So fun. There's two really really good guy designers on there, one whom I think is just a jerk, and the other I would love to have as my gay best friend (because they are ALL totally gay - the guys, anyway). Anyway, it's a fun show. I love having cable.

I made two new icons last night, but can't upload them because of my retarded internet. But they are there. And they're cool.
